4 Companies 2nd Battalion
National Colors of the 2nd Battalion, 16th United States Infantry
The 1st Battalion, 15th United States infantry was not issued any national or battalion colors during the war. There is some evidence to suggest that they intsead had to make due with using camp colors in the field as a battalion standard. This flag was usually 18 inches square and made of bunting, probably wool. It is also unknown whether any writing was inscribed on the colors. |
