Croxton and Davidson continue to battle it out in the forest west of Jay’s Mill.  Dibrell advances in the hopes of outflanking Croxton and driving him away.  Unknown to Dibrell, General Brannan has sent Colonel Van Derveer’s brigade to reinforce Croxton.  Advancing cautiously down Reed’s Bridge Road in line, Van Derveer will soon be in a position to safeguard Croxton’s left flank.  To the south, Wilson finished deploying his brigade in line.
