General King redeploys in a semi-circle facing south and southeast.  The 94^th Ohio halts its retreat and forms alongside them.  However, no sooner have they settled into their new position when Walthall charges them.  The 1^st Battalion, 16^th U.S. Infantry is almost entirely captured.  Battery H, 5^th United States is overrun and captured.  The rest of the brigade routs and flees through Van Derveer’s line.

Govan regroups quickly after capturing the hill from Starkweather, and resume the advance north.  Croxton also finishes bringing his brigade on line and advances south.

The 9^th Ohio rejoins Van Derveer’s brigade after being released from baggage train escort duty.
