Cleburne’s Division begins to redeploy.  Wood and Polk’s Brigades move to the right of Mills, extending the line to the north, and taking cover behind the ridge.
         Colonel Edward King is killed along his brigade's line at about this time.  Colonel Milton Robinson of the 75th Indiana takes command.
