Johnson’s division begins a concerted advance.  Baldwin continues to push Dibrell aside, while Willich and Dodge move forward against Maney.  Maney, outnumbered more than 2 to 1, retreats off the ridge.

            South and west of the Winfrey home, Cheatham’s division tries to rally.  The batteries of Smith, Stanford, and Huggins are the only organized units behind Strahl and Maney.
